Grubbs Earns Honorable Mention AVCA All-Region Honors

Senior recognized by AVCA for second consecutive year
Tennessee volleyball senior outside hitter Tessa Grubbs has been named All-Southeast Region Honorable Mention by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, the organization announced Tuesday.

This is the second consecutive year Grubbs has received AVCA All-Region recognition, as she also earned honorable mention status following last year's run to the NCAA Tournament.

Grubbs finished this season leading the Lady Vols and ranking fifth in the SEC in kills, totaling 438 and averaging 4.06 kills per set.

She closed the Lady Vols' 2019 campaign by recording double-digit kills in 26 of 28 matches while eclipsing 20 kills on seven different occasions.

The Tega Cay, South Carolina, native finished her career with an overall hitting percentage of .266, which ranks 17th in program history. She also closed her time as a member of the Orange & White ranking third in program history in both kills (1,413) and kills per set (3.75) in the rally scoring era.

During her career, Grubbs also received four SEC weekly honors and was named to the All-SEC Team in both 2018 and 2019.
