December 10, 2019 | Baseball
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Season tickets for 2020 Tennessee baseball season are now on sale to the general public and can be reserved by visiting AllVols.com or calling the Thompson-Boling Arena ticket office at (865) 656-1200 or 1-800-332-VOLS.
Baseball fans wishing to purchase MVP seats should call the Tennessee Fund (865-974-1218) or the ticket sales team (865-946-7000) for more information.
Single game, porch, patio and group tickets will all go on sale at a later date.
The Vols will begin their third season under head coach Tony Vitello with a home series versus Western Illinois starting on Friday, Feb. 14. UT is slated to play 37 games at Lindsey Nelson Stadium this season, providing Vol Nation plenty of opportunities to watch the team in person as it looks to build off its NCAA Tournament appearance last season.
Tennessee is scheduled to play 12 home games against teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament last year, including nine contests against opponents that made it to the Super Regionals and six versus foes that made a trip to Omaha for the College World Series.
The Vols host in-state rival and defending national champion Vanderbilt for a three-game series from March 20-22. Their other SEC home series include matchups against LSU (Super Regionals), Florida (Regionals), Kentucky and Arkansas (College World Series).
UT is coming off its best season in over a decade and ended its 13-year postseason drought. The Vols earned the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional, where they finished as the runner-up to host North Carolina.
The Big Orange posted their first 40-win season since 2005, finishing the year with a 40-21 overall record. UT won 14 conference games, five SEC series and finish third in the SEC Eastern division, all of which were the best since 2005.
The Vols return 19 letterwinners from last year's squad, including All-American and All-SEC outfielder Alerick Soularie, pitcher Garrett Crochet, who is widely projected as a first-round pick in the 2020 Major League Baseball Draft, and pitcher Redmond Walsh, who earned ABCA/Rawlings All-South Region honors after leading the team with nine saves in 2019. Tennessee also welcomes a talented crop of newcomers after bringing in the eighth-ranked signing class in the nation.
