Vols Release 2020 Baseball Schedule

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee baseball, led by third-year head coach Tony Vitello, released its 2020 schedule on Tuesday.
UT is slated to play 37 games at Lindsey Nelson Stadium this season, providing Vol Nation plenty of opportunities to watch the team in person as it looks to build off its NCAA Tournament appearance last season.
The Vols will also play four neutral-site games, including one just up the road at Smokies Stadium in Kodak, Tenn., against UT Martin on March 24. The Big Orange will have 15 road games as well, all in Southeastern Conference play.
Tennessee is scheduled to play 20 games against teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament last year, including 11 contests against opponents that made it to the Super Regionals and seven versus foes that made a trip to Omaha for the College World Series.

February
The Vols open the 2020 season with four consecutive home games. UT welcomes Western Illinois for the season-opening series from Feb. 14-16 before hosting Charlotte in the first midweek game of the year on Feb. 18.
Tennessee will travel to Texas to play in the inaugural Round Rock Classic from Feb. 21-23, where the Big Orange will face some elite competition in Texas Tech, Houston and Stanford. The Red Raiders went to the College World Series in 2019 while the Cardinal won the Stanford Regional before falling to Mississippi State in the Super Regionals.
UT returns to Knoxville to begin a season-long 10-game homestand with a pair of midweek tilts against Northern Kentucky (Feb. 25) and UNC Asheville (Feb. 26) before closing out the month with a home series against George Washington (Feb. 28-March 1).
March
The Big Orange host Longwood on March 3 before a challenging weekend series with 2019 Horizon League Champion, Wright State (March 6-8). They will close out their homestand with a midweek matchup against in-state foe ETSU on March 10.
UT kicks off SEC play on the road against South Carolina (March 13-15) before returning home for four consecutive home games. The Vols host Georgia State on March 17 before a massive showdown in their first SEC home series of the year against the defending SEC and National Champion Vanderbilt Commodores (March 20-22).
Following the series against Vandy, Tennessee will take on another in-state opponent in UT Martin on Tuesday, March 24 at Smokies Stadium before starting another four-game homestand. The Vols welcome perennial western division power LSU to Rocky Top for three games (March 26-28) to close out the month.
April
The Orange and White host Georgia Southern on April 1 to open the month before hitting the road for a weekend trip to Columbia, Mo., to face the Missouri Tigers (April 3-5).
The Vols return to Knoxville for back-to-back midweek games against Alabama State (April 7-8) prior to another SEC road trip to Alabama to take on the Crimson Tide (April 10-12).
After the trip to Tuscaloosa, it's back to Lindsey Nelson Stadium for five straight home contests, highlighted by a weekend series against SEC East rival Florida (April 17-19). The Florida series will be bookended by midweek games against Alabama A&M (April 14) and Morehead State (April 21).
UT wraps up the month with a trip to Athens for a big series against Georgia (April 23-25) and a home midweek game against Lipscomb (April 28).
May
The Big Orange open the month of May with a home series versus Kentucky (May 1-3) before traveling west for their final road games of the regular season, where they'll square off with Texas A&M (May 8-10).
Tennessee concludes the regular season with four straight home games, starting with a midweek matchup against Belmont on May 12. The Vols host Arkansas (May 14-16) to cap off the regular season. The Razorbacks have advanced to the College World Series in each of the past two seasons, including a runner-up finish in 2018.
The SEC Tournament will once again be held in Hoover, Ala., at the Hoover Met Stadium. The tournament will run from May 19-24 and feature the top 12 finishers in the SEC regular-season standings.
Should the Vols advance to postseason play, the NCAA Regionals will be held at campus sites from May 28-31. The Super Regionals would also be played at campus sites from June 4-7 with the winners advancing to the College World Series at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb., from June 13-24.
