Mertena Advances to ITA All-Americans Main Draw

TULSA, Okla. – Rebeka Mertena and Kaitlin Staines were perfect on Tuesday at the ITA All-Americans tournament in Tulsa, Okla.

Mertena won her only match of the day, 6-1, 6-4. The sophomore will advance to the tournament's main draw which begins on Wednesday.

Staines won both of her matches in the consolation bracket. She defeated Central Florida's Marie Mattel in three sets (1-6, 6-4, 6-1) to start the day. She closed out Tuesday's action with a 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 win over Tulsa's Marina Davtyan.
