KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The University of Tennessee women's golf team travels to Illinois to take part in the Illini Invitational at Medinah starting on Monday.
The field features a 15-team field with the Lady Vols as one of 11 teams schools from power conference. Tennessee and Ole Miss will be the two SEC representatives in the tournament.
The Lady Vols are coming off the lowest round in program history, carding a final round 274 (-10) in the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship. Every player in the lineup was par or better with sophomore Mikayla Bardwell tying for the 11th lowest round in school history.
Her final round 67 (-4) helped Tennessee move up four places on the leaderboard as the team placed fourth in the event. For the second straight tournament, freshman Nicole Whiston finished as the top Lady Vol on the leaderboard.
The San Diego, Calif. native picked up her first collegiate top-10 finish turning in a three-round score of 212 (-1). She was helped by a final round 69 (-2) to help her get back below par. She was one of four Lady Vols to place inside of the top 25, individually.
Tennessee will be playing at historic Medinah Country Club, which has hosted three US Open's (1949, 1975 and 1990), two PGA Championships (1999 and 2006) and the 2012 Ryder Cup.
The first round is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. (ET) at Medinah Country Club with continuous play through the second round. Tennessee will be paired with Wisconsin and Louisville in a shotgun start.
