Vols Ready for ITA All-American Championships

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Eight Tennessee men's tennis players head to Tulsa, Okla., this weekend for the 2019 Saint Francis ITA Men's All-American Championships, hosted by the University of Tulsa at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center from Oct. 5-13.
Pat Harper, Giles Hussey, Martim Prata, Andrew Rogers and Mark Wallner will open play in pre-qualifying singles on Saturday.
Seniors Scott Jones and Luca Wiedenmann will represent UT in the qualifying singles bracket in Tulsa. Jones was tabbed No. 106 in the ITA preseason singles poll and enters the weekend with a 3-1 record after opening his fall two weeks ago. Wiedenmann is 2-1 in the fall, beginning his season two weeks ago at the Milwaukee Classic.
Junior Adam Walton earned an automatic bid into the main draw and will begin play on Oct. 9 out in Oklahoma. The Aussie was recently tabbed No. 17 nationally in the ITA preseason singles rankings and owns a 10-2 record through the first month of the fall season.
The Vols will have two doubles teams in action as Walton/Rogers and Harper/Wallner will partner up.
