Tennessee Tidbits
- UT is now 841-395-53. The Vols rank 10th all-time in wins among NCAA Division I programs.
 - Tennessee stands 470-134-17 at Neyland Stadium, possessing the second-most wins of any program at a current stadium.
- Tennessee's captains for Saturday's game against Alabama were seniors Marquez Callaway, Brandon Kennedy, Darrell Taylor and Nigel Warrior.
- Tennessee won the toss and deferred to the second half, defending the South end zone.
- Jaylen McCollough became the seventh true freshman to start this season, making his first-career start Saturday night against South Carolina. He joins Henry To'o To'o, Wanya Morris, Darnell Wright, Warren Burrell, Quavaris Crouch and Brian Maurer.
- Tennessee opened the game with redshirt senior wide receiver Jauan Jennings at quarterback. Jennings rushed for 11 yards on the Vols' first offensive snap out of the wildcat formation. Redshirt freshman quarterback J.T. Shrout then took the second offensive snap at quarterback. Jennings added a 1-yard rush on the first offensive series and completed a pass to Marquez Callaway that was negated by a penalty. Jennings' opening snap marked the first time the Vols opened a game in the wildcat formation since Oct. 3, 2009 when freshman wide receiver Nu'Keese Richardson took the opening snap 41 yards against Auburn.
- Jennings is the third different Vol to start a game at quarterback this season, joining redshirt junior Jarrett Guarantano (four starts) and freshman Brian Maurer (three starts).
- The 2019 season marks the first time since 2004 that Tennessee has recorded wins with three different starting quarterbacks (Brent Schaeffer, Erik Ainge and Rick Clausen).
- J.T. Shrout recorded his first career touchdown pass on a 55-yard throw to Marquez Callaway in the third quarter. Callaway also scored on a 65-yard punt return in the second quarter to give the Vols a 10-7 lead.
- Jarrett Guarantano went 11-of-19 for 229 yards, becoming the 11th player in program history to throw for 4,000 yards.
- Jarrett Guarantano (229) and J.T. Shrout (122) are the first UT duo since Josh Dobbs and Quinten Dormady to throw for over 100 yards in the same game. Dobbs (183 yards) and Dormady (109 yards) both went for over 100 against Tennessee Tech on Nov. 5, 2016.
- The Vols recorded a season-high 351 yards passing.
- Jauan Jennings scored his 16th-career touchdown on a 27-yard reception from Guarantano, capping off a two-play, 75-yard drive in the second quarter. Jennings found the end zone again on a 19-yard reception from Guarantano in the third quarter to move into a tie for eighth in program history in touchdown receptions, tying Robert Meachem (2004-06). It marks the second time this season that Jennings has caught a pair of touchdowns in the same game. Jennings is the first Tennessee receiver to record two games of multiple touchdowns on two occasions in the same year since Josh Malone in 2016.
- Jennings finished with seven catches and a career-best 174 receiving yards to move into 10th all-time at Tennessee in career receiving yards with 1,836, surpassing Anthony Hancock (1978-81) who totaled 1,826. His performance Saturday was the most receiving yards for the Vols since Cordarrelle Patterson recorded 219 yards on Nov. 3, 2012 versus Troy. Four of Jennings' touchdown receptions during his career have come against South Carolina.
- Jennings' 174-yard performance is the most receiving yards by a Tennessee player in an SEC game since Denarius Moore had 228 at South Carolina in 2010.
- Jennings recorded 113-yards receiving in the first half to mark the second time in his career that he surpassed the 100-yard threshold in the opening two quarters. The last time was against No. 1 Alabama on Oct. 20, 2018, when he tallied 102 yards.
- Jennings and Callaway combined for 276 yards receiving against the Gamecocks, marking the second time this season that the senior duo each recorded 100-plus yards in the same game. It marks the first time that the Vols have had two receivers both record 100-plus yards in the same game twice during the same season since 2012.
- Junior wideout Josh Palmer hauled in a career-high five receptions to finish with 55 yards. It marks the second time this season that three receivers have recorded 50-plus yards in a game. The first time was against Georgia State (Jennings (108), Dominick Wood-Anderson (79), Eric Gray (51)).
- Junior running back Tim Jordan recorded his first start since Nov. 3, 2018, when the Vols defeated Charlotte.
- Redshirt junior offensive lineman Jahmir Johnson saw action for the first time since the Vols played BYU on Sept. 7.
