GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Tennessee swimming and diving team concludes the regular season Saturday with a dual meet against Florida at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.
The meet begins at 10 a.m. Eastern time following Florida's senior day presentations. Note that the men's 3-meter and women's 1-meter springboard competitions will be held Friday at 4:30 p.m.
All four teams are ranked inside the CSCAA national top 15. Tennessee's men are ninth and women are 13th. The Gator men are sixth and women are eighth.
The dual meet marks the final competition for Vols before the SEC Swimming & Diving Championships, which runs Feb. 19-23 in Athens, Ga.
LAST WEEK: Tennessee is coming off a senior day sweep of Georgia, winning 19 of 32 combined events at Allan Jones Aquatic Center to close out the home schedule. The women won 170-130 while the men took the meet 156-144 over the Bulldogs. Erika Brown won her fourth SEC Swimmer of the Week honor by winning three individual events: the 50 freestyle (21.87), 100 free (50.04) and the 100 butterfly (52.22). Kyle DeCoursey was the men's conference swimmer of the week after taking the 50 free (19.91) and 200 free (1:37.68).
LAST TIME VS. FLORIDA: The Lady Vols defeated Florida 184-116 last season. Erika Brown and Meghan Small led the way with two-win meets. Brown won the 200-yard freestyle (1:47.74) and sparked a 1-2-3 finish in the 100 butterfly (52.31). Small took first the 200 butterfly (1:59.44) and the 200 individual medley (1:59.94). The Vols lost the men's meet, 178-122.
