Lady Vols fall in three sets to No. 16 San Diego

Tennessee set for rematch against the Toreros tomorrow night
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The University of Tennessee volleyball team fell at the hands of No. 16 University of San Diego Friday night in Jenny Craig Pavilion.
Senior Erica Treiber led the team with nine kills in the match to go along with her three blocks as the Lady Vols were swept in three sets. This is the first time this season the Lady Vols have lost in three sets.
Freshman Raquel Perinar made her debut for Tennessee playing in all three sets at outside hitter. Perinar finished the match with a team-high five blocks to go along with four kills.
The Lady Vols were held to a season-low .095 hitting percentage and it is the first time all season they have been held below .150. They came into the match with a .235 hitting percentage through seven matches.

The Lady Vols head back to Jenny Craig Pavilion tomorrow night for a second matchup against No. 16 San Diego at 10:00 p.m. (ET).

- Treiber finished the match with a hitting percentage of .571 with just one error on the night. It is the highest percentage she has hit so far this season. With her nine kills, she now has 810 in her four-year career.
- With a team-high 14 assists in the match Sedona Hansen is now 42 assists away from tying Kelsey Mahoney for ninth on the career assists list in Tennessee history.
- This is just the second time this season that a team has had a higher hitting percentage than Tennessee. San Diego finished with .253 hitting percentage on the night.
- Tessa Grubbs enters Saturday's match with 627 kills as she needs just 23 kills to have 650 in her career.
