KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee soccer program opens the 2018 home schedule Friday evening with an exhibition match against SEC Rival Alabama. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Regal Soccer Stadium.
Admission is free for all preseason and regular-season soccer matches. For fans planning to attend, note that Tennessee's clear bag policy will be in effect again this season.
MEET & GREET: Prior to Friday's match, the Vols will host their annual Meet & Greet, open to the public. Gates will open at 4 p.m., with an autograph session scheduled to begin at 4:15. Following the autograph session, head coach Brian Pensky will introduce the team in UT's video room.
Other promotions for Friday's match include a Kids' Corner and a postgame movie on the Jumbotron, weather permitting.

VOLS TABBED 25TH: Tennessee was selected No. 25 in the preseason installment of the United Soccer Coaches' NCAA Division I national rankings. This marks the first preseason top-25 nod for the Vols since 2009.
UT is one of four SEC programs listed, along with No. 5 South Carolina, No. 7 Florida and No. 11 Texas A&M. Tennessee ended the 2017 campaign 15-4-2 overall, ranking 25th in the final United Coaches poll and No. 16 in the NCAA RPI.
GUESS WHO'S BACK: All but three players from last season's NCAA Tournament squad are back on Rocky Top. All-American midfielder Katie Cousins returns alongside five All-SEC and/or United Coaches All-Region award winners (forward Khadija Shaw, defender Maya Neal, midfielder Anna Bialczak, forward Erin Gilroy and midfielder Rylie O'Keefe).
SCOUTING THE TIDE: Alabama turned in a 12-8-1 overall record last season, finishing 7th in the SEC soccer standings with a 4-5-1 ledger in conference play. The Crimson Tide earned an at-large bid to the 2017 NCAA Tournament, which marked its first NCAA appearance since 2011.
Head coach Wes Hart enters his fourth season at the helm of Alabama soccer, and the Tide returns eight starters and 16 letterwinners from last season's squad.
UP NEXT: Tennessee's 2018 campaign officially begins Thursday, Aug. 16 as the Vols host the St. John's Red Storm. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Regal Soccer Stadium.
