Villano to Join Tennessee Volleyball as Transfer

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – After one year of competition at Jacksonville State, Brooklynne Villano will join the Tennessee volleyball team as a transfer for the 2018 season.

As a freshman outside hitter for Jacksonville State, Villano played in 11 matches, starting in two of them. Over the course of the season she tallied 21 digs and 10 kills.

Even as a transfer, Villano already has a connection to the Tennessee volleyball program. Her older sister, Bridgette, played for the Big Orange from 2013-2016

"Brooklynne is a great addition to our roster and I am happy to have another Villano in the program," first-year head coach Eve Rackham said. "She is a tremendous athlete who will help us in a variety of ways."Â

"I believe she has untapped potential and a very high ceiling with a year of college volleyball already under her belt. She has good length and great foot speed, which we highly value in our athletes. We are certainly looking forward to having Brooklynne join us this fall."

The Lady Vols will open the regular season on Friday, August 24 when they host Michigan State in the annual Tennessee Classic.
