Weather Suspends Round Two at NCAA Columbus Regional
May 15, 2018 | Men's Golf
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Inclement weather in the area suspended the second round of play at the NCAA Regional on Tuesday afternoon.
Â
At the time play was suspended, three of Tennessee's five golfers still had holes left to complete in round two.
Â
Of the 13 teams competing in the regional, nine of them completed round two. The remaining four teams – Tennessee, Michigan State, Yale and Cleveland State – will resume round two play at 7 a.m. ET on Wednesday and then begin round three immediately after.
Â
The competition is taking place at the OSU Golf Club's Scarlet Course, a par-71, 7,364-yard layout.
Â
Through nearly two rounds at the tournament, first-team All-SEC selection Lorenzo Scalise continues to lead Tennessee.
Â
The senior from Milan, Italy, was even through 15 holes before weather suspended play and currently sits in a tie for 15th place overall.
Â
Tennessee is in 10th place as a team with six total holes left to play in round two.
Â
In addition to Scalise, two more Vols reside in the top 30 after Tuesday.
Â
Sophomore Rhys Nevin, who made it through 17 holes before the weather interference, is currently 7-over par and in a tie for 30th place. Nevin shot 2-over for the day with five birdies.
Â
Also tied for 30th place with Nevin is fellow sophomore Brayden Garrison, who shot 3-over during his 16 holes on Tuesday.
