1V8 Wins Petite Final at Women's Sprints

WORCESTER, Mass. — Tennessee Rowing was in action at the Women's Sprints in Worcester, Mass. on Sunday, taking first in the 1V8 Petite Final, second in the 2V8 Petite Final and fifth in the 1V4 Grand Final.
Tennessee's 1V8+ finished third behind Rutgers and Boston University in Heat 3 of the morning session, advancing to the petite final in the afternoon where senior Jennifer Davis guided the crew to a first place finish. Their time of 6:37.418 bested Temple, Drexel, Boston College, MIT, Connecticut, and Holy Cross.
UT's 2V8+ also took third in the morning session, posting a time of 6:54.371. Dartmouth won the heat with a time of 6:47.215. In the petite final during the afternoon, the Vols finished second with a time of 7:00.658. Boston College won the event with a time of 6:59.218. Drexel, Connecticut, Boston University, MIT and Holy Cross rounded out the field.
The Tennessee 1V4+ took second in its morning heat, posting a time of 7:36.613 to beat Rutgers and Connecticut and advance to the grand final in the afternoon. In the final, the crew finished fifth ahead of Boston College with a time of 7:42.682. Harvard-Radcliffe won the final with a time of 7:24.982.
Next Up: Tennessee returns home to host the Big 12 Championship on May 12-13 in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
