1V8 Named Big 12 Boat of the Week

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Big 12 Conference announced Thursday that Tennessee's First Varsity Eight has been named the league's Boat of the Week.
The Vols' 1V8+ is coming off a first-place finish in the Varsity Eight Final C at the Clemson Invitational. UT posted a time of 6:23.74, besting second-place Northeastern by more than two seconds. Rounding out the field were Cornell (6:27.17), No. 20 Oklahoma (6:29.88), UCF (6:31.37), Clemson (6:34.97) and Boston (6:34.99).
The Vols' 1V8 was comprised of senior coxswain Jennifer Davis, junior Kirsten Girard, freshman Margarita Georgoudi, sophomore Mikayla Dutton, freshman Jaimie Armitage, junior Pari Baker, sophomore Annie Pelic, sophomore Brenna Randall and freshman Abbi Altman.
Tennessee will resume competition on April 29, competing in the Eastern Sprints on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass.
