STANFORD, Calif. — Junior Zach Long broke Tennessee's 28-year-old 5,000 meter record Friday to start the Stanford Invitational.

With the time, Long surpassed Glenn Morgan's 1991 record of 13:46.3. The Knoxville native has set two Tennessee marks so far in 2018, setting the 3,000m record (7:59.15) during the indoor season.
In the 5,000m collegiate event earlier in the day, five of seven Vols ran personal bests.

PEPSI FLORIDA RELAYS: Led by a 400-meter victory by senior Nathan Strother, Tennessee recorded six top-10 finishes Friday at the Pepsi Florida Relays in Gainesville, Florida.
