LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The 37th-ranked Tennessee women's tennis team lost a 4-1 match to No. 20 Kentucky on the road Sunday afternoon at the Boone Tennis Complex.
The Lady Vols (13-7, 0-7 SEC) took the early lead by winning the top two courts in doubles. Sadie Hammond and Gabby Schuck got things going with a 6-4 win on Court 2 over Lesedi Jacobs and Justina Mikulskyte. Ariadna Riley and Kaitlin Staines clinched doubles with a 7-5 victory over 41st-ranked duo of Mami Adachi and Emily Fanning on Court 1.
Despite winning three first sets, UT was unable to find its groove in singles, as the Wildcats swept the top four courts to win the match.
