Lady Vols Ranked No. 19 in Final AVCA Poll

Tennessee records its fifth highest ranking in the final AVCA Poll
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. --Â The University of Tennessee volleyball team ended the season in the top 25 of the American Volleyball Coaches Association Poll, as announced by AVCAÂ on Monday afternoon.

The Lady Vols finished the season ranked No. 19. It marks the fifth highest ranking in the final AVCA poll in program history, tying the 2011 squad which also came in at No. 19 in the final poll.

Tennessee entered the polls on Oct. 29, climbing to No. 19 in the final regular season poll on Nov. 26. In all, the Lady Vols were ranked the final six weeks of the season. In all, Tennessee was either ranked or receiving votes in 13 of the 16 polls this season.

In Head Coach Eve Rackham's first season on Rocky Top, she helped orchestrate the largest single-season turnaround in program history.

She guided the Lady Vols to a 14-win increase overall, 11-win increase in Southeastern Conference play and an eight-place jump in the conference standings. This included a second place finish in conference, helping the team earn a No. 2 seed in the Washington State Regional of the NCAA Tournament. Tennessee advanced to the second round of the tournament for the 10th time in program history and the first since 2010.
