Tennessee opens the NCAA Tournament against the Mountain West Champion Rams in Pullman, Wash.
PULLMAN, Wash. – No. 19 University of Tennessee volleyball team opens up the NCAA Tournament with a first round match against Colorado State Friday.

The Lady Vols (25-5, 16-2 Southeastern Conference) ride an 11-match winning streak heading into their first postseason appearance since 2012. Tennessee finished second in the SEC standings while also becoming the first team in UT history since 1983 to record 14 or more wins on their home floor.

Colorado State (23-7, 15-3 Mountain West Conference) makes its 24th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament and 22nd consecutive under head coach Tom Hilbert. The Rams claimed their 15th Mountain West Conference title this season, winning 12 of their final 13 matches in the regular season.

Tennessee will be making their 15th appearance all-time in the NCAA Tournament and its first since 2012. Tennessee is 13-14 all-time in the NCAA Tournament which includes a trip to the NCAA Final Four in 2005.

Erica Treiber is coming off of a career match where she tallied her first career double-double with 16 kills and 11 blocks. AVCA NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Senior Erica Treiber was named Sports Imports/AVCA Player of the Week on Tuesday.

She becomes the fourth player in program history to be named the National Player of the Week and the first since the 2011 season.

Treiber ended the regular season as one of two players in the nation and the only Power-5 player to rank top five in their conference in hitting percentage, blocks per set and aces per set. She finished the season as the only player in the SEC to hit over .400 on the season while ranking fifth in both blocks per set (1.09 blk/set) and aces per set (0.37 aces/set).

ALL-SEC SELECTIONS
Senior middle blocker Erica Treiber and junior outside hitter Tessa Grubbs were voted to the All-SEC Team while freshman outside hitter Lily Felts was one of eight players chosen to the All-Freshman Team.

This marks the first time since 2012 Tennessee has had players selected to the All-SEC Team as Treiber and Grubbs become the 44th and 45th All-SEC selections in the programs' history. Both Treiber and Grubbs earned All-Freshman honors in 2015 and 2016, respectively. Felts joins them as the ninth player in program history to make the All-Freshman Team.

Brooke Schumacher entered the top 5 in digs at No. 23 Missouri on Nov. 14. She currently needs three more digs to tie Kylie Marshall (2006-09) for fourth place at 1,374 career digs.

If the Lady Vols advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, they will take on the winner of Northern Arizona and tournament site host Washington State on Saturday evening. The Lumberjacks and Cougars first round match is scheduled for 10:00 p.m. (ET) Friday night in Bohler Gymnasium.
