Vols Fall in Singles Qualifying at ITA All-American

TULSA, Okla. -- Tennessee's Adam Walton and Scott Jones were eliminated from the singles qualifying round of the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships Tuesday afternoon at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
Jones (Perth, Australia) opened the day with a three-set comeback victory, defeating Noe Khlif (Illinois) 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 for his third-straight singles win. In the final round of qualifying, the Tennessee junior fell to Mattias Siimer (Michigan) 6-3, 6-4 to end his run in Tulsa.
Walton (Home Hill) dropped his match to California's Yuta Kikuchi, who was rated No. 8 in the ITA's preseason freshman/newcomer rankings. Walton nearly forced a third set, but fell by a score of 6-2, 7-6(6) Tuesday afternoon.
