Shaw Leads Jamaica to First CONCACAF Semifinal Berth

EDINBURG, Texas -- Tennessee senior Bunny Shaw logged back-to-back game-winning goals for the Jamaican National Team this week at the CONCACAF Women's Championship, helping earn a key six points to propel the Reggae Girlz to their first CONCACAF semifinal appearance in history. Jamaica will face the United States at 8 PM ET on Sunday, Oct. 14 at the Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas.
The winner of Sunday's matchup will advance to the final and automatically qualify for the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France. The loser will compete in a third-place match for the region's final automatic World Cup qualifying bid.
Shaw's first game-winner came in a narrow 1-0 triumph over Costa Rica on Monday, kicking a dribbler inside the left post from six yards in the 45th minute. The Spanish Town, Jamaica native recorded the opening tally in Jamaica's 9-0 rout of Cuba, scoring on a free kick from 24 yards in the 2nd minute of action Thursday night.
Across 11 World Cup qualifiers, Shaw has paced the Jamaican attack with 18 goals. She also leads the Vols with seven goals in 2018 despite missing six games due to national team obligations.
