VFL Paisley Captures First European Tour Title

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – University of Tennessee golf alum Chris Paisley captured his first victory on the European Tour, and VFL Charlie Ford continued his strong season with a tie for 11th Sunday at the BMW SA Open in Ekurhuleni, South Africa.

Paisley took a one-shot lead into the final day and sealed the deal by going 6-under on Sunday. He recorded six fourth-round birdies and carded pars on the other 12 holes, with his wife Keri handling caddy duties during the tournament.

Paisley, who finished 21-under-par (267), began the event with a 66 on Thursday and followed with a 65 and 70 before today's final-round 66. He finished three strokes ahead of runner-up Branden Grace of South Africa. Grace turned in a final round 68 to finish with an 18-under 270.

Ford, meanwhile, grabbed a share for 11th place with a 12-under 276. He put together scores of 71-72-67-66 to post his second top-15 outing in as many months. He tied for eighth in December at the Joburg Open in South Africa.
