SEC Releases Television Schedule For Conference Games
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The 2018 Southeastern Conference women's basketball television schedule and the 2018 SEC Tournament slate were unveiled by the league office in Birmingham, Ala., on Wednesday afternoon.
In addition to non-conference telecasts in games vs. Texas (ESPN2) at 3 p.m. ET on Dec. 10 and at Notre Dame (ESPN) at 7 p.m. ET on Jan. 18, Tennessee will have 12 televised SEC contests and four others available online via SEC Network +. The SEC Network will announce additional non-conference games at a later date.
The Lady Vols will have five of their league games airing on ESPN2 or ESPNU, including home match-ups vs. 2017 NCAA Final Four teams Mississippi State and South Carolina. Seven others will be televised on the SEC Network, including the league opener at Kentucky, which will be played at noon on New Year's Eve in Rupp Arena.
UT fans should note the earlier-than-usual 6:30 p.m. ET tip times for home games vs. Texas A&M on Feb. 1 and Alabama on Feb. 15. Sunday SEC starts at Thompson-Boling Arena fall anywhere from noon to 4 p.m. ET, pending ESPN's decision between a noon (ESPNU) or 4 p.m. (ESPN2) tip vs. South Carolina on Feb. 25. That announcement will be made by the network 7-10 days prior to the game.
ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU will produce a combined 15 regular season conference contests as well as three non-conference games. The SEC Network will televise 50 conference games.
The SEC Tournament will be played Wednesday, February 28, through Sunday, March 4, at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. The SEC Network will televise the first three days of the SEC Women's Basketball Tournament while the semifinals will air on ESPNU and the championship game will be carried by ESPN2.
All of the games included in the ESPN package (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and SEC Network) will also be available through the ESPN app, which is accessible on computers, smartphones, tablets and connected devices to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider.
Institutions will continue to have the ability to produce for SEC Network + any conference and non-conference games that are not otherwise televised, which will be available on the ESPN app and SECSports.com.
Tennessee tips off the 2017-18 campaign with an exhibition game vs. Carson-Newman at 7 p.m. ET on Nov. 7. Season tickets are available now at allvols.com.
