MEN'S TENNIS CENTRAL: Wake Forest/Lipscomb

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee men's tennis team opens the outdoor season Saturday with a doubleheader against No. 3 Wake Forest and Lipscomb at Barksdale Stadium.
The match against the Wake Forest (8-1) starts at 11 a.m. and the second half of the doubleheader versus Lipscomb (204) begins at 2:30 p.m. Both matches are scheduled to be played on the Vols' renovated outdoor stadium. Free donuts and coffee will be available for spectators.
The 34th-ranked Vols (7-3) have been training outdoors since beating Tulsa at home and losing to Duke on the road two weeks ago.

THE GREAT(ER) OUTDOORS
- Barksdale Stadium, the Vols' outdoor tennis courts since 1976, is undergoing its most extensive renovations in 30 years in preparation for hosting the SEC championships later this season.
- The courts have been completely resurfaced (now in Smokey grey) and a new lighting system has been installed, which will once again allow for night matches.
- The main entry pavilion is undergoing upgrades and courtside spectator viewing has been added along courts 5 and 6.
PARKING & ENTRY NOTE
- With construction taking place on new student housing directly south of Barksdale Stadium and Goodfriend Tennis Center, fans are asked to enter the stadium through the north entrance on Caledonia Avenue.
- Spectator parking is available in Lot C-11, which is located off Volunteer Boulevard.
CLIMBING THE RANKINGS
- The Vols have returned to the top 40 in the first computer rankings of 2017 thanks to victories over top-50 opponents Tulsa and North Florida.
- On the heels of his first career top-25 victory, sophomore Timo Stodder is at a career-best No. 74 in the singles rankings. He is a team-leading 17-7 this year and has played all his matches at the top of the lineup.
- Stodder and Scott Jones also vaulted up to No. 25 in the doubles rankings, career bests for both Vols.
- For Wake Forest, Petros Chrysochos is tied for No. 1 in the national singles rankings, Skander Mansouri is No. 8 and Christian Seraphim is No. 34. Chrysochos and Mansouri are ranked No. 1 in the country.
