Schuck Shines on Day 2 of Fall Invite

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Redshirt sophomore Gabby Schuck shined for the Tennessee women's tennis team on Day 2 of the Tennessee Fall Invite at Goodfriend Tennis Center on Saturday, going 2-0 in singles and 1-1 in doubles.
The Lady Vols started the day with a round of singles versus Ohio State and ended with two rounds of doubles against Arizona State.
UT struggled in singles, dropping five of the six courts against the Buckeyes. Schuck was the lone Lady Vol to find the win column, downing Danielle Wolf, 6-1, 6-1. She also rolled past Wake Forest's Mary Caroline Meredith, 6-0, 6-2, in an additional match.
Tennessee split rounds with ASU in doubles, taking the both matches in the first round but dropping both in the second.
In the first round, Schuck and Sadie Hammond fought back from an early 1-4 deficit to beat the duo of Nicole Fossa Huergo and Savannah Slaysman, 7-6 (3). Elizabeth Profit teamed up with Tenika McGiffin to earn her first win as a Lady Vol, downing Lauryn John-Baptiste and Sasa Klanecek in a 7-5 match.
The Lady Vols will be back in action starting at noon Sunday, beginning with a round of doubles against Ohio State followed by a round of singles versus Wake Forest at 1 p.m. to conclude the weekend.
