Hansen, Coulter Record Double-Double in 3-2 Road Loss to Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Sedona Hansen and Madison Coulter each recorded a double in a 3-2 (25-17, 15-25, 25-21, 23-25, 16-14) road loss to the Aggies of Texas A&M at Reed Arena Friday night.
Hansen recorded her 11th double-double of the season with 23 assists and 23 digs and is now 10th all-time on Tennessee's assists list with 1,536 total assists. Coulter recorded her second double-double of the season with 10 kills and 21 digs in the loss. Tessa Grubbs finished the match with a team-high 12 kills.
Tennessee (10-9 | 3-7 SEC) used a 3-0 run late in the final set to tie the match up at 12 but Texas A&M (7-10 | 4-6 SEC) would really back to take the final set 16-14 on their way to winning the match 3-2.
There were 10 ties and four lead changes in the opening set before the Aggies' offensive performance took over on their way to a 25-17 win over Tennessee. The Lady Vols had just nine kills on 43 attacks in the opening set.
UT got things going in the second set by taking the lead early and never looked back. Stephanie Buss and Breana Jeter had three kills each in the set as Tennessee's defense allowed only eight kills in the 25-15 set win. Texas A&M hit a -.026 in the set with nine errors on 38 attacks.
In the third set when Texas A&M won a tight set 25-21. There were four lead changes and nine ties in the set led and Kendra Turner led the Lady Vols with four kills. Texas A&M would rally to take the set 25-21 after a hard fought set by Tennessee.
Tennessee started the fourth set on a 7-3 run before the Aggies knew what hit them, but Texas A&M would settle in and score seven of the next 10 points to tie the match up at 10. The Lady Vols would retake the lead off a kill by Erica Treiber but the Aggies would not go away. Texas A&M would go on to score four points in a row with the score 16-13 and an ace by Gabby Litwin would give the Aggies a 17-16 lead over Tennessee. From that point, there were seven ties in the set and the final lead change would come when Hollann Hans picked up the attack error and Tessa Grubbs would come back and close out the set with a kill to give the Lady Vols the 25-23 win and tie the match at 2 each.
The Lady Vols will now travel to Baton Rouge to face LSU on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. The match will be broadcasted on the SEC Network+ and can be seen on the WatchESPN App.
