KNOXVILLE, TENN. -Â Tennessee Rowing returns to action this weekend with boats competing at the Head of the Charles Regatta in Cambridge, Mass. and the Secret City Head Race in Oak Ridge, Tenn.

At Head of the Charles, the Lady Vols will be competing in three events over the weekend, entering boats in Club 4+, Club 8+ and Championship 4+. The Club 4+ and Club 8+ events will be at 1:57 p.m. and 2:37 p.m., respectively, and the Championship 4+ will take place at 1:15 p.m. Sunday.

Additionally, a team of Lady Vols alumni will be facing off against other alumni boats in the Alumni 8+ event at 1:18 p.m. on Saturday.

The Head of the Charles is the largest rowing event in the country and features a three-mile head race upstream from Boston University Boathouse to Christian Herter Park. Each race has a rolling start and the team with the fastest time wins. Last year Tennessee finished fifth in the Championship Fours event.
In Oak Ridge, the Lady Vols will be competing in three events. The Tennessee novices will start the day with four boats competing in the 11:20 a.m. Novice 8+ event. The varsity will hit the water in the afternoon with four boats competing in the Women's 2- at 3:40 p.m. and two boats racing at 5:20 p.m. in the Women's 4+.
