Lady Vols Eliminated from Regionals

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- The Tennessee women's tennis team's run at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships came to an end Sunday.
Sadie Hammond and Gabby Schuck faced the top-seeded team of Mami Adachi and Akvile Parazinskaite from Kentucky in the semifinals of the doubles bracket. After dropping the first set, the Lady Vol duo put together a solid second set, but the Wildcats rallied to force a tiebreaker. As momentum shifted in favor of Kentucky, UT lost the match, 6-3, 7-6 (1).
Ariadna Riley picked up another win in the singles consolation, defeating Purdue's Babic in a 6-2, 7-5 match. Chelsea Sawyer also earned a victory after downing Dovnik of Purdue, 6-2, 6-2.
Tennessee returns home on Oct. 27-29 to host the annual Tennessee Fall Invite at Goodfriend Tennis Center.
