Coach Patrick Quotes
(On team performance)
One of the focuses was that we had to play pretty clean because Missouri is a team that does an unbelievable job of not making very many errors and I felt that one of the keys was going to be for us to play as error free as we could and I was very happy with how our hitters and passers did a great job of taking care of the ball in different situations.
I thought one of the big keys for the success we had was Alyssa Andreno and Erica Treiber, not only what they did offensively but what they did against Missouri's very, very talented and athletic middles, two of the best middles in our conference and really did a nice job of neutralizing them as best as you can and also offensively doing a great job. I thought our play at the net was very, very strong. That's something that Missouri is very good at with their blocking and attacking, I believe they are in the top three in our conference in hitting percentage, but to hold such a offensive juggernaut to under .200 hitting percentage I thought was pretty special, I didn't think we could do that I thought we were going to have to just try and hit for a higher percentage than them rather than hold them to under .200, so a lot of credit goes to our defense and our defensive system. I thought the team did a fantastic job of carrying out the game plan both at the net and in the backcourt.
(One Sedona Hansen)
Offensively we are able to click so well due to our setting and Sedona has been the leader of that group. She is really a coach on the floor when she plays, I thought she did an unbelievable job of not only setting the right person at the right time, but also in setting the ball in the right place for our middles to be so successful. My hats off to her in terms of allowing our offense to click on all cylinders during this match, but again she led us in digs and she does it on both sides of the court, she does offensively and defensively. She's one of the, in my opinion, one of the best setters in the country and definitely in our conference and she was a big reason for the success we had today.
