Jones led Tennessee (4-0, 1-0 SEC) to a thrilling 38-28 comeback win over Florida (3-1, 1-1 SEC) on Sept. 24. UT rallied back from a 21-point deficit with 38-straight points to end the Gators' 11-game winning streak in the all-time series. The Vols also earned their first win in their SEC opener since 2004 when they also defeated the Gators 30-28 to begin the conference schedule.
With standout performances by SEC Offensive Player of the Week Joshua Dobbs and SEC Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week Derek Barnett in the second half, Jones directed the Vols to one of their most exciting wins in program history. By erasing a 21-point deficit, the Vols tied for the third-largest comeback in Tennessee history. Earlier on Thursday, Dobbs was named the Maxwell Award Player of the Week and Barnett was named the Chuck Bednarik Award Player of the Week.
UT is on a 10-game winning streak, dating back to 2015, which is the third-longest in the nation and the Vols' longest since winning 14-straight over the 1998 and 1999 seasons.
The No. 11/11 Vols head to Athens, Ga., to face No. 25/20 Georgia (3-1, 1-1 SEC) on Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. ET game on CBS.
