Kermet Improves to 2-0 in Furman Fall Classic

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Sophomore Kim Kermet improved to 2-0 in singles and freshman Johanna Silva earned her first collegiate win, as the Tennessee women's tennis competed in Day 2 of the Furman Fall Classic.
The day began with a round of doubles and was followed up by a round of singles. In doubles, senior Eve Repic and sophomore Sadie Hammond picked up a victory over Makenna Jones and Cassandra Vasquez of North Carolina, 8-3.
In singles, Kermet won her match against Florida State's Daniela Schippers, 6-3, 6-0. Silva pulled out the close win with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 match against Sam Asch from Wake Forest.
Play will begin at 9 a.m. tomorrow with a round of singles to end the tournament.
