KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Today in our countdown to the season opener we’ll get to know the newest member of the team, transfer goalkeeper Emily Egan.
Need to Know
Egan joined the Vols this summer after spending two seasons at Georgia Southern. She redshirted in 2014 before taking over as the Eagles’ No. 1 goalkeeper last season. Egan started 16 of the team’s 19 games, making 53 saves while posting two shutouts and a 1.34 goals against average.
The redshirt sophomore from Gold River, Calif., played her prep soccer for St. Francis High School in Sacramento, helping lead the Troubadours to Delta River League championships in 2011 and 2013. Egan also ran track for St. Francis and played club soccer for San Juan SC of the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL). Check out Emily’s entire bio HERE.

Dream Job Outside of Soccer: Becoming a project engineer and working in construction.
Most Embarrassing Soccer Moment: It might not be embarrassing as it is laughable, but my mom brought XL heavy duty trash bags with her to one of my tournaments when I was younger, and after the game made me sit in one and cut a hole in another one for my head so that the mud covering my uniform wouldn’t get all over the car.
Favorite Thing About Tennessee: It has a great atmosphere and strong school spirit full of deep history.
