Pros Update: Maddox Leads Whitecaps in 100th Game

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- With the second half of the 2016 season under way, Tennessee Baseball has 19 former players who have made appearances on professional baseball fields.
On August 4, VFL Will Maddox played in his 100th game of the season with the West Michigan Whitecaps. He went 2-for-5 (.400) at the plate and drove in three runs in the outing versus the Dayton Dragons. Additionally, Maddox scored two runs and stole two bases, leading West Michigan to victory over Dayton, 9-2. He currently leads the club in batting average (.347) and ranks second on the team in runs (50), RBI (50) and stolen bases (21).

R.A. Dickey -- SP, Toronto Blue Jays | Video Highlights
Season: 8-12, 4.49 ERA, 23 G, 138.1 IP, 133 H, 79 R, 69 ER, 49 BB, 100 K
Dickey earned his eighth win of the season last week (July 29-August 4) for the Blue Jays. Dickey threw 7.0 innings and allowed just one run on six hits. The righty fired his 100th strikeout of the season during the outing

Mobile BayBears Season: 2-5, 3.83 ERA, 8 G, 49.1 IP, 48 H, 27 R, 21 ER, 11 BB, 31 K
Reno Aces Season: 2-1, 3.31 ERA, 7 G, 32.2 IP, 37 H, 16 R, 12 ER, 15 BB, 38 K
Godley received the loss in Arizona's August 3 game against Washington, moving to 3-2 in his six starts for the Diamondbacks this year. He allowed four runs on eight hits through 6.0 innings of work.
Yan Gomes -- C, Indians | Video Highlights
Season: .165, 71 G, 41 H, 21 R, 11 2B, 1 3B, 8 HR, 32 RBI
On July 18, Gomes was placed on the Cleveland Indians' 15-day disabled list with a separated right shoulder.
Chase Headley -- 3B, Yankees | Video Highlights
Season: .253, 99 G, 83 H, 41 R, 11 2B, 1 3B, 10 HR, 36 RBI, 4 SB
Headley played in seven games this week (July 29-August 4), going 7-for-25 (.280) with three RBI during that span. His best game came on August 3 versus the New York Mets, when he posted a 1-for-3, two-RBI effort helping the Yankees to a 9-5 win.
Luke Hochevar -- RP, Kansas City Royals | Video Highlights
Season: 2-3, 3.86 ERA, 40 G, 37.1 IP, 31 H, 17 R, 16 ER, 9 BB, 40 K
On July 28, Hochevar was placed on the Kansas City Royals' 15-day diabled list with symptoms of thoracic outlet syndrome.

Arencibia played in five games for Durham from July 29-August 4. His best outing came on July 30 when he hit an RBI-double, boosting Durham to a 6-5 win over Louisville.

Baltimore Orioles: .222, 5 G, 2 H, 1 R
Bowie Baysox Season: .280, 88 G, 93 H, 49 R, 7 2B, 2 3B, 5 HR, 20 RBI, 20 SB
On July 29, the Baltimore Orioles sent Borbon outright to the Bowie Baysox. He played in five games for Bowie this week (July 29-August 4), tallying three hits and a scored run.
Andy Cox -- P, Billings Mustangs (Rookie - Cincinnati Reds)
Season: 3-0, 1 SV, 6.60 ERA, 13 G, 15.0 IP, 22 H, 15 R, 11 ER, 9 BB, 10 K
Cox made one relief appearance last week (July 29-August 4) and picked up his first save of the season. Cox tossed 1.0 scoreless inning in the July 30 appearance.

Duffy appeared in five games this week (July 29-August 4) for the Round Rock Express. His best outing came on August 2 versus Memphis when he hit an RBI-single with two outs in the ninth to send the game to extra innings.
Vincent Jackson -- OF, State College Spikes (A-Short - St. Louis Cardinals)
Season: .242, 44 G, 40 H, 24 R, 10 2B, 3 3B, 1 HR, 28 RBI, 12 SB
Jackson played in seven games last week (July 29-August 4) and went 7-for-26 (.269) during that span. On August 3, two of his three hits were doubles and he drove in four of State College's eight runs against the Auburn Doubledays.
Andrew Lee -- SP, Hagerstown Suns (A - Washington Nationals)
Season: 2-2, 3.71 ERA, 11 G, 51.0 IP, 45 H, 25 R, 21 ER, 18 BB, 46 K
Lee did not appear in any games last week while spending time on the Hagerstown Suns 7-day Disabled List (since June 7).

On July 30, Steckenrider was assigned to the Triple-A New Orleans Zephyrs from the Jacksonville Suns. He tossed 2.0 shutout innings and struck out three batters in his debut on July 31.

Stewart played in six games this week (July 29-August 4) for Lakeland. In his most recent appearance, the outfielder went 1-for-3 (.333), scored a run and recorded his 66th RBI of the season.
