KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- To wrap up our soccer countdown we’ll get to know more about forward Hannah Wilkinson.
Need to Know
Wilkinson is the most experience player on the Vols’ roster, having played in 49 games while starting 43 of them during her career on Rocky Top. The New Zealand international is the team’s active leader in goals (22) and points (52) and has received numerous preseason accolades this season, including being named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List, the SEC Soccer Preseason Watch List and Top Drawer Soccer’s list of the nation’s top 100 players, checking in at No. 84. Wilkinson missed all of last season with a knee injury but was granted another year of eligibility. She has already earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and is fresh off an appearance in this summer’s Rio Olympics with New Zealand.
The 5-11 forward burst onto the college scene in 2012 by scoring eight goals and earning NSCAA Second-Team All-America honors. Her most productive season came in 2014 when she scored nine goals and had 21 total points to help lead UT to a semifinal appearance in the SEC Tournament. Wilkinson was originally committed to Maryland but decided to follow head coach Brian Pensky to Tennessee when he took the job here in 2012. Check out Hannah’s entire bio HERE.
