KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- We’re in the final stretch of our countdown to the season opener! Today we’ll meet another one of the Vols’ talented freshman, forward/midfielder Erin Gilroy.
Need to Know
Gilroy played exclusively for the East Meadow Explosion of the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) during her prep career. She as a four-year captain for the Explosion and ranked sixth in the U-16 division with 18 goals during the 2014 season. Gilroy was ranked No. 128 in the IMG Academy 150 list and attended the EXNL Nike ID National Training Camp in 2014. She also played lacrosse, tennis and ran cross country for Mepham High School.
The Bellmore, N.Y., native also attended the U.S. Women’s U-18 National Team training camps at the U.S. Soccer National Training complex in 2015 and 2016. Gilroy graduated early and enrolled at Tennessee in the spring after choosing the Vols over Indiana, Hofstra and Penn State. Check out her entire bio HERE.

Most Embarrassing Soccer Moment: When I was playing U-12 I decided to play goalie and let up three goals in 10 minutes.
Favorite Thing About Tennessee: The atmosphere and support of all the sports teams at the university, and the tradition behind the university and the athletics.
