July 11, 2016 | Women's Tennis
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee women’s tennis team added a late addition to its 2016 signing class with Johanna Silva signing her National Letter of Intent Friday.
Silva, who is a native of Hamburg, Germany, is a top-100 player in her country. Recently, she helped her team win the North German Championships.
“Johanna is a very solid player that will compete for playing time right away,” head coach Mike Patrick said about his newest signee. “She possesses an all-court game with power and touch. We are very excited to welcome Johanna to our program. She is one of the top-10 juniors in her age group in Germany, and her work ethic and determination will help our program.”
Silva will join Ariadna Riley as the newest additions to the team this fall. The Volunteers return eight players from last year’s roster.
