STILLWATER, Okla.-- Tennessee's men's golf team shot a 25-over 313 in the second round of the NCAA Stillwater Regional at Karsten Creek Golf Club Tuesday.

The Vols climbed as high as fourth on the leaderboard after the counted lineup combined for 10 birdies through 11 holes (holes 10-18, 1 and 2). Enduring a difficult stretch to end the front nine, Tennessee enters the final round in 11th place, 13 strokes out of fifth place. The top five teams in the regional advance to the NCAA Championships.
Michael Nagy carded a team-best 1-over 73 in the second round. The senior birdied three in the first 11 holes to reach 2-under Tuesday. Nagy moved up 22 spots in the second round and is tied for 22nd at 8-over.
Lorenzo Scalise leads the Vols after two days with a 7-over tournament score and is tied for 15th. Scalise carded a 7-over 79 and birdied one in the second round. The sophomore sits 10 strokes behind UMKC's Antoine Rozner for the NCAA Championship individual qualification.
Chad Merzbacher birdied the opening 10th hole, one of two birdies on the day, as part of his 5-over 77. The Dublin, Ohio, native cracked the top 30 and is 11-over for the regional.
Freshman Nicklas Mattner posted a team-high four birdies and finished the round with a 12-over 84. Jack Smith rounded out Tennessee's play, carding a 20-over in the second round.
The Stillwater Regional concludes Wednesday morning. Tennessee will play alongside VCU and Michigan State and will begin from the 10th tee for the second consecutive day. Tee times are below (all times CT).
