OAK RIDGE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Rowing will return to action Sunday as they host the Tennessee Invitational Conference Clash at Melton Hill Lake.
The competition will feature #19 Iowa, Central Florida and Clemson. Due to inclement weather in the forecast, the competition will begin at 6:40 a.m. on Sunday morning rather than the original start time of 3:45 p.m.
The four teams will compete in five races on Sunday. The third varsity 8+ will compete at 6:40 a.m., the second varsity 4+ will begin at 6:50 a.m., the first varsity 4+ starts at 7 a.m., the second varsity 8+ competes at 7:10 a.m. and the first varsity 8+ will conclude the race at 7:20 a.m.
Two weeks ago, the Vols competed at the Clemson Invitational alongside nine ranked teams and three squads receiving votes. The second varisty eights finished in fourth place in all three races of the weekend with a top time of 6:48.0. The first varsity 4+ finished in third place in their final race of the weekend. Jennifer Davis coxswained the crew of Jesselyn Voysey, Nicole Burnett, Victoria Hamby and Kaitlyn Wallace as they defeated Oregon State and #13 Indiana as well as Columbia and Michigan State.
The Conference Clash is the final regular season regatta of the season for the Vols. Tennessee is hosting the Big 12 Championship on May 14 and 15th at Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
