For Starters
- Tennessee’s starters for senior day included three seniors (Armani Moore, Derek Reese and Devon Baulkman) and a pair of freshman (Admiral Schofield and Shembari Phillips).
- It was Reese’s first start since the SEC opener at Auburn on Jan. 2. He has made 12 starts this season.
- Saturday’s lineup was the 10th different starting five for the Vols this season.
The Senior Class
- Saturday marked the final game at Thompson-Boling Arena for seniors Devon Baulkman, Armani Moore, Kevin Punter Jr. and Derek Reese.
- Moore and Reese are both four-year Vols and were members of Tennessee’s 2014 Sweet Sixteen team. They have helped Tennessee post a 48-18 (.727) record in Thompson-Boling Arena.
- Baulkman and Punter are junior college transfers. Baulkman went to Gulf Coast State College and Punter was at State Fair CC in Missouri before joining the Vols last season.
First-Half Drought
- The Vols were held without a field goal for 14 minutes and 4 seconds during the first half.
- Moore hit a jumper to put the Vols ahead 11-9 with 14:56 on the clock, but Tennessee didn’t score a jumper again until Admiral Schofield drained a 3-pointer to close the score to 31-20 with 52 seconds left in the half.
- During the draught, the Vols missed 15 consecutive field goals. The Vols did, however, keep pace by making six free throws.
- The Vols shot 25.9 perfect from the field (7-of-27 shooting) but Ole Miss did not shoot much higher, shooting 34.4 percent (11-of-32 shooting). At one point, the Rebels went 5:29 without a field goal.
- The Vols scored 22 points in a half, the fewest in a first half by UT all season and tied with the fewest points in a half this year (22 points in the second half at TCU - 1/30/16)
- Scholfield led the Vols with 8 points during the first half; Ole Miss’ Sebastian Saez neared a double-double with 12 points and 7 rebounds.
Second-Half Scoring
- Shooting picked up for both teams in the second half. Ole Miss built a 22-point lead after starting the second half of a 19-6 run, but the Vols eventually cut that lead to 13 points on a 3-pointer by Devon Baulkman with 8:26 left. Ole Miss would lead again by as many as 23 points.
- Both teams shot above 50 percent for the half. Tennessee shot 51.6 percent (16 for 31) and Ole Miss shot 57.1 percent (16 of 28).
- Of Ole Miss’ 16 field goals in the second half, seven of them were threes.
Double-Digits
- Three Vols finished with at least 10 points: Devon Baulkman (18), Armani Moore (13) and Admiral Schofield (12).
- Baulkman scored at least 15 points for the sixth time this season, the last since scoring 19 points off the bench against South Carolina (Feb. 24). He has led the Vols in scoring three times this year.
- It was the 20th time this season that Moore has scored at least 10 points. Schofield has scored at least 10 points in three consecutive games.
- Though he did not reach double-digit scoring, Ray Kosongo matched his career-best scoring output with six points.
Up Next
