With the Win...
- The Vols have won three consecutive home games and are 11-2 this season at Thompson-Boling Arena.
- Tennessee is 4-3 all-time against teams led by a former UT head coach.
- The Vols have victories in nine of the last 10 games against Auburn.
Defensive Stand
- The 71-45 victory Tuesday marked the lowest number of points an opponent has scored against an opponent this season.
- Auburn shot just 14 of 59 from the floor (23.7 percent), the lowest field goal percentage the Vols have held an opponent to this season. (Previous low: .306 vs. Gardner-Webb 11/22/15).
- The previous lowest point total the Vols have allowed this season was 62 points against Florida Atlantic on Dec. 16.
- It is the first time the Vols have held an opponent under 50 points since beating Mississippi State 61-47 on Jan. 7, 2015, on the road.
- It is the fewest number of points the Vols have allowed since losing to Georgetown 37-36 on Nov. 30, 2014.
Career Night for Hubbs
- Junior guard Robert Hubbs III came off the bench and finished with a career-high 20 points, surpassing his previous career high of 20 against Marshall (11/19/15). It is the first time this season and second time in his career that he has led the Vols in scoring.
- It's the fourth time this season he has scored at least 15 points and the first time he's done so since posting 17 points against Gardner-Webb on Nov. 22.
- Kevin Punter Jr. scored just four points, his lowest total of the season and second time he has been held in single-digit scoring, but the rest of the Vols picked up the scoring pace. In addition to Hubbs' 20 points, Devon Baulkman scored 14 points and Detrick Mostella added 10 points.
For Starters
- Starters for the Vols included: Kevin Punter Jr., Armani Moore, Kyle Alexander, Shembari Phillips and Devon Baulkman. It was the seventh starting lineup coach Rick Barnes has used this season. Nine Vols have started at least one game this year.
- It was the first career start for Phillips, who became the third freshman to start for the Vols this season, joining Alexander and Admiral Schofield.
- The Vols' first two baskets of the game came from Baulkman, who hit a layup in the first possession and a 3-pointer in the second.
- Detrick Mostella was the first Tennessee player off the bench, followed closely by Admiral Schofield a few seconds later.
In the First Half
- Tennessee led Auburn 34-23 at halftime, the 14th time the Vols have led after the first half this season.
- Thanks to five early points by Devon Baulkman, the Vols opened the game leading 7-0 and stayed ahead the rest of the half.
- Coming off the bench, Robert Hubbs III scored 10 points to lead the Vols in the first half, shooting 3-for-3 from the floor with a 3-pointer, in addition to 3 of 4 from the free throw line. Armani Moore had a team-leading seven rebounds.
- As a team, the Vols shot 12-of-29 from the floor (41.4 percent) while Auburn made 8-of-31 shots (25.8 percent).

- Overall: UT leads, 76-38
- In Knoxville: UT leads, 48-7
- Current Streak: Tennessee has won one. Auburn won the earlier meeting this season, 83-71, in the SEC opener on Jan. 2 at Auburn.
Up Next
- The Vols hit the road for the next game, playing at Missouri on Saturday at 3 p.m. Eastern. It will be the first and only meeting between the teams this season.
- The series with Missouri is tied 5-5, but Tennessee has won the last two meetings.
- The Tigers are 8-15 (1-9 SEC) this season in Kim Anderson's second year in Columbia, Mo.
