Vols Lose First Match of Tennis Doubleheader

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Volunteers lost the opening match of the Saturday doubleheader 4-0 to Georgia Tech in the first outdoor match of the season at Barksdale Stadium.
Georgia Tech got the doubles point and won five of six first sets. Luis Valero forced a third set at the top of the lineup and the Vols were threatening to do the same in the second half of the lineup when the Yellow Jackets got the clinch.
The Vols play Tennessee Tech at 5 p.m. inside Goodfriend Tennis Center.
