With the Win...
- Tennessee extended its home winning streak to four games.
- UT is now 12-2 at home, marking the fourth time in five years that the Vols have posted 12 wins at home.
- The Vols also avoided their first three-game SEC losing streak of the season.
- Armani Moore and Derek Reese are now 48-16 in their careers at Thompson-Boling Arena. With two home games left, Moore and Reese have a shot at reaching 50 home victories.
Taming The Tigers
- LSU's 25 points in the first half were the third-fewest points allowed by Tennessee in the first half. UT held Auburn to a season-low 23 first-half points on Feb. 9.
- LSU star Ben Simmons started the game on the bench and entered the game four and a half minutes in. Simmons had started all 26 games of his collegiate career entering tonight's game.
- Tennessee's 16-point win marked LSU's biggest loss of the season. The Tigers' previous largest margin of defeat this season was 14 points in a 71-57 loss to Texas A&M on Jan. 19 in College Station, Texas.
Moore's Big Night
- Armani Moore filled up the stat sheet with 17 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and four steals.
- Moore recorded his fifth double-double of the season and the eighth of his career.
- His seven assists tied his career high. Moore has dished out seven assists three times in his career. His last seven-assist game entering tonight was against Butler on Dec. 12.
- He has tallied four or more steals four times this season, including a career-high five against South Carolina on Jan. 23.
- Moore recorded two blocks in the first half to push his career total to 124. He is now in sole possession of eighth place on UT's all-time blocks list.
- Moore is now seven blocks back of Vincent Yarbrough (131 blocks from 1998-2002) and seventh place.
Miscellaneous Notes
- Tennessee took a 31-25 lead into halftime. The Vols is (8-1) this season when leading at the half.
- Detrick Mostella scored in double-figures for the 11th time this season and the 13th time in his career.
- Shembari Phillips scored 13 points, the second-highest total of his career. He also set a new career best with four assists and his six rebounds matched his career high.
- Robert Hubbs III's 19 points against LSU was one shy of his career high of 20, which he set last week against Auburn.
For Starters
- Tennessee starters against LSU were Kyle Alexander, Robert Hubbs III, Armani Moore, Shembari Phillips and Detrick Mostella.
- Vols leading scorer Kevin Punter Jr. was inactive for tonight's game due to injury (right foot).
- Phillips started for the fourth-straight game. Saturday's game also marked Mostella's third start of the season and his first since staring at Mississippi State on Jan. 16.
- Hubbs scored the first basket of the game on a jumper 14 seconds in.
