Maggitt, North Invited To NFL Combine

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee's Curt Maggitt and Marquez North have been invited to the 2016 NFL Combine following their careers with the Volunteers. The Combine will be held in Indianapolis from Feb. 23-29.
Maggitt spent five years in Knoxville, playing in 35 games from 2011-15. He racked up 141 career tackles with 28.5 tackles for loss and 13.5 sacks as a linebacker and defensive end. Maggitt posted a career-best 56 tackles as a true freshman in 2011, as he was named to the SEC Coach All-Freshman Team. In 2014 as a redshirt junior, he had a career-best 15 TFLs and 11 sacks in making 48 overall tackles. He was named to the 2014 Associated Press All-SEC Second Team.
Maggitt was on various preseason watch lists in 2015: Rotary Lomabrdi Award, Bronko Nagurski Trophy and Chuck Bednarik Award. He played in the first two games as a redshirt senior in 2015, making seven tackles, before suffering a season-ending hip injury.
North played three seasons with the Volunteers appearing in 28 games. He hauled in 74 catches for 874 yards with five touchdowns over his career spanning 2013-15. North's top season came as a true freshman in 2013 when he made 38 catches for 496 yards. He earned numerous Freshman All-American accolades as well as being named to the All-SEC Freshman Team.
Heading into the 2014 season, he was a preseason All-SEC Coaches First Team selection. As a sophomore in 2014, he made 30 catches for 320 yards with four touchdowns, playing in the first 10 games before suffering a season-ending injury late in the season.
As a junior in 2015, North was hampered by injuries and played in just seven games, making six catches for 58 yards.
