Vol Baseball Set to Host Winter Camps

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Baseball will host its first of two winter camps this month at Lindsey Nelson Stadium, with a youth camp scheduled for Dec. 29-30. On Jan. 21, 2017, the program will then kick off the new year with a full-day, high school camp open to players from ages 13 - high school senior level.
Tennessee's youth winter camp provides an opportunity for the Vol Baseball staff to teach the fundamentals used by UT baseball players. Tennessee staff, current players, former players and college coaches from all around the Southeast region will be on hand to assist.
Skills and areas of focus include mental game strategies, conditioning, hittingand fielding drills to help take participants' games to the next level. This will be an extremely informative and fun filled camp for players of all ages and playing levels.
Tennessee Baseball Youth Winter Camp
- Date: Thursday, Dec. 29 - Friday, Dec. 30
- Time: 9 a.m. ET - 2 p.m. ET (each day)
- Ages/Ability: Open to all players ages 6-12 with any skill level

Set for Jan. 21, Tennessee's high-school level camp is designed as a one day, two session camp. The first session will include all position players and pitchers working on defensive skills, with pitchers also working on mechanics and throwing bullpens. The second session will focus on hitting. Each camper will be put through several drills to learn the proper mechanics along with the approach to hitting.
This camp will give coaches the opportunity to see each player's ability and provide direct feedback.

- Time: Registration - 8 a.m. ET; First Session - 9 a.m. ET; Second Session - 1 p.m. ET; Conclusion - 4 p.m. ET
- Ages/Ability: Open to all players from ages 13 - high school senior with any skill level

All instruction for each camp will take place at Lindsey Nelson Stadium, weather permitting.
