Treiber Named to AVCA All-Region

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Tennessee sophomore middle hitter Erica Treiber was named to the AVCA All-Southeast Region Team, the volleyball coaches association announced Tuesday.
A native of Unionville, Michigan, Treiber earned regional honors for the first time after putting together a standout second season for the Vols. She led Tennessee offensively with a .348 hitting percentage while averaging 2.58 kills per set. She also was the team leader with 21 aces (0.21 aces/set) and 107 total blocks (1.06 blocks/set).
She ranked seventh in the SEC in hitting percentage and ninth in blocks per set.
Treiber recorded a career-best 17 kills in a five-set match against South Carolina and had a pair of three-ace matches during the season. She led the Vols to a 3-1 win over No. 23 Kentucky in the home finale with eight kills, three aces, five blocks and three digs.
Treiber is the first Tennessee volleyball player to earn AVCA all-region honors since libero Ellen Mullins in 2013 and the first middle hitter/middle blocker since DeeDee Harrison in 2011. Tennessee has earned 29 all-region honors since 1999.
Tennessee finished the year 17-14 overall and 7-11 in the SEC.
