Tennessee (1-3) suffered its second loss in Maui on Tuesday, but took yet another ranked opponent down to the wire. After trailing No. 13 Oregon by as many as 11 in the second half, the Vols battled back to force overtime behind 22 points from Detrick Mostella and a double-double effort from John Fulkerson. Tennessee continued to hang tight in the extra period, but a 3-pointer from Oregon preseason All-American Dillon Brooks with under a minute to play gave the Ducks the cushion they needed.
Fulkerson, who had 12 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks in the loss, recorded the first double-double by a Tennessee freshman since Jarnell Stokes accomplished the feat in March 2015.
Chaminade (2-2) is also looking for its first win in the Maui Invitational after falling to No. 4 North Carolina in the opener and dropping a close contest with UConn on Tuesday. The Silverswords boast a potent one-two scoring attack in senior Rohndell Goodwin's 21.5 points per game and senior Kiran Shastri's 18.3. Goodwin had 20 points on Tuesday night against the Huskies while Shastri knocked down five 3-pointers en route to 19 points.
QUICK HITTERS
- The Vols are forcing 19.5 turnovers per game here in Maui.
- Vols junior Detrick Mostella, who stands 6-1, is averaging 17.0 points and 6.0 rebounds through two games in Maui.
- John Fulkerson's double-double vs. Oregon was the first by a UT freshman since current Denver Nuggets forward Jarnell Stokes logged one in March 2012.
- Tennessee played without sophomore forward Admiral Schofield (suspension) and freshman point guard Jordan Bone (left foot injury) Tuesday.
- A win would give Tennessee at least one win in each of its three all-time appearances at the Maui Invitational.

LAST MEETING VS. CHAMINADE
- An early 14-0 run propelled the Vols to a 86-60 win over Chaminade at the Maui Invitational on Nov. 23, 2011.
- Sophomore Jordan McRae (now with the Cleveland Cavs) scored eight of his then- career-high 25 points in that run as the Vols took control and won convincingly.
- Four other Vols: Trae Golden (17), Cameron Tatum (12), Renaldo Woolridge (11) and Skylar McBee (10) also scored in double-figures for the Vols. Tennessee shot 57.1 from the floor for the game including 58.3 percent in the second half.
- UT was stellar from 3-point range, making 15-of-27 from beyond the arc for 55.6 percent. The total of 15 made 3-pointers was one shy of the school-record of 16 made treys, set five separate times. In making, 55.6 percent from long range, the Vols had one of their best percentages of single-game 3-point shooting with 20 or more attempts in school history. The mark trailed the record of a 14-of-22 (63.6 percent) performance vs. Campbell (12/23/04).
- After Chaminade scored off the game's opening tip, Tennessee reeled off 14 straight points as Chaminade missed nine straight shots. A Woolridge layup put the Vols up 14-2 just 5:07 into the game. McRae knocked down a pair of 3-pointers in the spurt.
- Tennessee led Chaminade 45-25 at halftime thanks to a well-balanced attack, as McRae made 5-of-7 from the floor. The Vols shot 56.3 percent from the floor in the first half including 6-of-10 from 3-point range. Tennessee's defense was stellar in the first half, limiting Chaminade to just 23 percent shooting from the floor (8-of-35).
