Repic, Hammond Advance in Doubles at All-Americans

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. -- In the first day of qualifying for the 2016 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships, Tennessee's duo of senior Eve Repic and sophomore Sadie Hammond advanced to the second round of doubles.
Hammond and Repic picked up their second ranked win in doubles on the season, beating No. 59 Mickey Hsu and Kristen Poei of Cal State Northridge, 8-3. They will face Elena Cerezo-Codina and Caroline Daxhelet from Virginia Tech in the second round Wednesday at 1 p.m. EST.
In singles, both players fell in straight sets during the first round. Hammond lost to Stanford's Caroline Doyle, who's ranked 52nd in the country, 6-3, 6-4. Repic lost to Valerie Salazar from Syracuse, 6-4, 7-5. Hammond dropped her second match of the day against LSU's Ryann Foster in the singles backdraw.
