Hansen Named SEC Freshman of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — After leading the Tennessee volleyball offense to a pair of shutout victories, setter Sedona Hansen was named SEC Freshman of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Hansen earned her first weekly conference honors as the Vols (15-8, 5-5 SEC) defeated Alabama 3-0 on the road and Auburn 3-0 at home.
In the two victories, she averaged 12.5 assists and 3.50 digs per set. She recorded her 10th double-double of the season in the Alabama match, finishing with 33 assists and 14 digs. She had 42 assists in the Auburn win, the 10th time this year she has had at least 10 assists in a match.
As a freshman, Hansen has started all but two matches this season and is third in the conference with 11.23 assists per set, best among freshmen. She ranks 18th in the NCAA in assists per set, third among freshmen.
Tennessee is back in action this weekend, facing Missouri at home on Friday at 7 p.m. Eastern and Texas A&M on the road at 2:30 p.m.
