Lindl, Repic Start Strong in Doubles at Fall Invite

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. --The senior duo of Brittany Lindl and Eve Repic started strong in doubles at the Tennessee Fall Invite on Friday.
The Vols began the day with two rounds of doubles against Wake Forest and finished with a round of singles versus Arizona State at Goodfriend Tennis Center.
In doubles, the duo of Repic and Lindl picked up two wins, taking both matches 6-3 over Wake Forest. Sophomores Ashley Bongart and Kim Kermet defeated Courtney Meredith and Joanna Zalewski, 6-3, in the first round.
In the second round, sophomore Sadie Hammond and redshirt freshman Gabby Schuck came back to beat Zalewski and Luisa Fernandez, 7-6 (1), after being down 4-2 in the set. It was their first career win together and was Schuck's first day of competition since an injury back in February kept her out the majority of the spring.
Lindl and freshman Ariadna Riley were the only Vols to win their singles matches against the Sun Devils. Lindl defeated Kelley Anderson, 7-5, 6-2. Riley breezed past Gussie O'Sullivan in a 6-1, 6-1 match. With the victory, Riley is on a three-match winning streak.
Tennessee will play again tomorrow at 10 a.m., beginning with a round of singles against Ohio State followed by two rounds of doubles against Arizona State.
