"Hannah is playing really well," said Head Coach Judi Pavon. "She has worked very hard on her game and it's paying off this week. Her low rounds have been key in keeping us in contention as a team."
Pietila is currently in second place with a total of 138 (-6). She is five strokes off the lead (-11) set by Arkansas' Alana Uriell.
Pietila is joined in the top 10 by junior Blakesly Warren who is in a five-way tie for sixth place with a 36-hole total of 142 (-2). She duplicated her first round score of 71 on Monday.
Heading into Tuesday's final round, No. 23 Tennessee is tied for second place with Texas A&M. The Vols shot 285 in both of the first two rounds to total 570 (-6) and are eight strokes behind No. 9 Arkansas.
"I'm pleased with our first two rounds," stated Pavon. "Breaking par both days is a great accomplishment. We did lose a few shots and could have been better but we are in good shape heading into tomorrow."
Junior Anna Newell finished the day in the top 15. She is tied for 14th place at even par. Just two strokes behind Newell, Micheala Williams, an honorable mention Rolex Junior All-American, moved up into a tie for 27th after recording 70 in the second round.
As an individual, Teleri Hughes carded one-over 73 to total 148 and tie for 31st place.
Sophomore Shannon Brooks finished the round in 75th place with an overall score of 167.
No. 23 Tennessee begins the final day of competition at 9:45 a.m. ET in pairings with No. 9 Arkansas and Texas A&M.
