Vols Find Success in Doubles at IU Regional

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. --The Tennessee women's tennis team found success on the second day of the IU Regional, winning five matches between singles and doubles.
Both the sophomore duo of Kim Kermet and Ashley Bongart as well as the freshman duo of Johanna Silva and Ariadna Riley picked up two wins in doubles Saturday. In singles, Riley defeated Jane Fennelly from Notre Dame, 6-2, 6-2.
The other Vols' run at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships came to an end Saturday, despite strong performances to begin the day in singles.
Sophomore Sadie Hammond and senior Eve Repic both picked up wins in the first round of singles. Hammond defeated Kelly Poggensee-Wei of Cincinnati, 6-3, 6-0, and Repic beat MTSU's Costanza Magazzini, 6-1, 6-1.
The top-seeded duo of Hammond and Repic ended the day with a tough 8-5 loss to Vanderbilt's team of Sydney Campbell and Christina Rosca.
Senior Brittany Lindl picked up a win in the consolation draw, downing Xavier's Rachel Reichenbach in a 6-3, 6-1 match.
